Hi guys,

I've just added a standard RSS feed (Google News) to my Rainmeter skin and was wondering what else would be worth looking at. I've never looked at this sort of thing before so I have no idea what is around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jed.

BBC News is useful but can take a while to read your way through.

BBC also have individual news feeds for each category.

I subscribe to the standard BBC News and the technology one

Engadget is a great feed.

Basically, just think of sites that you like to check up on every now and again and go and find their feed. You'll ahve tons in no time at all!

I currently have 133 feeds that I am subscribed to.

Once you start using RSS Feeds it'll change the way you browse the net. You can keep up with the latest stories across a lot more websites, a lot faster without having to visit them all every day.

I'd recommend setting up a Google Reader account too and adding a few there. Like the person above I subscribe to ~100 feeds - some i'd recommend:

Engadget
Techradar
BBC News (as mentioned pick the categories you want e.g.F1 News)
XKCD
First Showing (Film News)
1up
Astronomy Picture of the Day
The Big Picture

This is just a random selection. Any new sites you stumble across and think they look interesting just add the feed and you can easily see if it's worth going back.

I agree with setting up a google reader account. Reader works perfectly. I use Thr online client to read my feeds on my desktop and netbook and use reeder on my iPhone

RSS has Deffo changed how I browse the web. If I ha to check each of my feed sites everyday. I would go mad! And as tons of people are saying, rss is not dead. It's brilliant and more people should use it. I don't know how many people see the orange rss icon around the net and have no idea what it means and how useful it can actually be!!
