RST Drivers needed for a hardware raid

If I am setting up raid 1 on two disks using a hardware raid in the bios, do I still need to install the latest RST drivers? Just wasn't sure if they were only needed if it was a software raid that was being set up.

If the RST drivers are needed, what version are folks finding the best these days?

you can later if you want,but win7/8 has them already so it will install them for you when you set to raid in the bios first
