RTB Warranty Question?

I purchased something from a store about 45 days ago, it was on the cheap just to tide me over for a while and it came with a 1 year RTB warranty.

45 Days later, it dies! I was hoping it'd last the year as thats all I had really bought it for, 45 days sucks a bit though.

Anyway, my question is this? What does an RTB warranty entail? As far as i'm aware its "return to base" which means that i just take it back to the shop and they deal with it. However, if it has died and it has completly is it likely I'll have to wait for it to go off for repair or will they replace it with the same procut with same warranty if available?

I know the best i'm ever going to get is a credit note and i'm fine with that. I just don't want this shipping away for 6 months, getting it back and only having a few months on the warranty left.

RTB on epson printers when i worked there meant that a courier would turn up at your home, pick up the item, then return it to you repaired after about 7 working days, no replacement whilst it was away.

Epson also I beleive have service centers where (if you beleive the blurb) they can fix a lot of minor problems whilst you wait.
