RTX 3060 vs RX 6700XT

It really is all down to whether you want to enable RT ever. In that case Nvidia is an easy choice. Plus I have to say the better image quality of DLSS makes a big difference in certain cases like Cyberpunk where unlike FSR 2 it can deal better with a lot of flickering or thin edges, so it's a much more pleasing image and a big + imo.

For me, it's hard to ever turn off RT reflections if available, so since I have an RX 6800 I instead take a huge hit to resolution in order to have playable framerates. Nvidia would've made more sense tbh.

basic tasks yes - playing games like cyberpunk might actually destroy the card :)
Oh no - pls don't bring cybercrap to conversation. You can't base anything on this crap game.
Games I've played on it in 1440p :
*gta5 (140fps high/max, grass low and postFX low)
*new world (100-140fps, 40-60fps in busy towns medium settings)
*fs2020 (50-70fps medium, few options low)
*mw2 (80-100fps medium/high)
*csgo (300-500fps on performance settings)
*sea of thieves (120fps med/ 80fps max)

Have you got your windows setup for games? I recommend Panchos videos if you struggle with fps in any games.

EDIT: forgot about RDR2 (60-80fps on medium/few on low)

everything is all set up with it to play decent games-
CSgo most computers can handle that game its a relatively low-maintenance game but opting for a 970 which is 8 years old isn't the best of options for me as my cards are already 6 years old, an RX 460 can handle normal games at low settings at 50-60fps give or take.

As someone who has been using an RX 460 since it was released in August 2016, anything that runs well with high fps and good resolution is good for me with the addition to RT which NVIDIA does way better. Benchmarking both are sort of similar depending on the games you play with the RX 6700XT pushing more FPS generally.

to be clear - i was little bit sarcastic saying 970 in initial post as I've replaced it yday after so many years ;)

Bruh, these are old games. GTA V, Sea of Thieves and CSGO.

If this person buys a 970 they are severely limited in what they can play.

Anyway to the OP, OcUK has the 3060 Ti and 6700 XT around the same price, the 6700 XT is the faster card if you ignore RT.

I purcahsed my 6700XT brand new for around £360 from a mainstream retailer. The only thing is I dont know how I go about claiming the two games (dead island 2 and callisto project)?

Go to AMD rewards, you can just Google that.
Create an account.
Enter the key emailed to you from OcUK, it will then ask you to download the verification tool, here enter that same key again.
Click verify then back on the web page you will see your two games now able to be added to the cart, select both and continue, you have now used your 2 availible reward credits. Now just wait until the games release, come back get the keys and activate them on Steam and Epic Games.
