Looking on ocuk the cheapest 3080 is £170 more expensive than the cheapest 3070. Both are Inno3D make.

So is it worth the extra money? I game at 1440p and i have a 165Hz monitor. CPU is a ryzen 3600.

Will the 3600 bottleneck the cards? And im assuming my 650W corsair psu will be ok? It was fine when i temporarily tried a 3070ti for my dad and that had 3x 8 pin power connetions and drew a max of 420w from the wall.

Whatever card i get i will be keeping for a long while. If i can get a decent 1440p ultrawide or 4k screen then i may do in future.

I had planned to get the card and see how it went, then get a new PSU if needed. Then maybe a 5600X or 5700X after that.

Then on top of all that ive seen a nice full build on marketplace with a 3070 and an i5 12400F for around £850 so wondering if that may be better.

I hadnt but it looks like i can get a 12gb card for the price of the tuf 10gb card. Inno3d or zotac. Dont like the look of the cooler on the inno, so probably be the zotac.

Or the 3080ti vision ive been offered on facebook for £850

Well 5700X and 3080 both installed and running great.

On fortnite @ 1440p the 1070ti did about 65fps on a mix of epic and high settings. Changing the CPU first it went up to around 85fps then swapping in the 3080 its gets about 180fps with DLSS enabled on full epic settings.

Not tried RTX settings yet but will do later.

Seeing about 450W draw from the wall when gaming so far.

Well as it goes im glad i picked up the 3080 as i got a decent proced 4k monitor off facebook marketplace.

Fortnite plays nice at 4k all epic settings with RTX and DLSS on i get about 60fps on average. Pretty good, but i cant really tell much difference so ive turned RTX off and put DLSS on quality and get about 90fps so pretty pleased.

Tried COD WW2 and in the shipment map on max settings i was getting a solid 60fps ( must have vsync on or capped frames at it never changed at all from 60fps ). At one point i saw VRAM usage of 9700Mb. Never seen anyting like that kind of usage before.
