Hi,

Not entirely new to PC building have built a few over the years but out of touch with current times and my knowledge isn’t great.

With the whole GPU stock situation going on it put me off building a PC until I managed to source a Gigabyte RTX307 OC and now looking to build a PC.

My question to you guys, what would you build to get the best out of the chosen gpu? I won’t say money no issue but looking at less than £1500 not including gpu cost. I want it to be as future proof as possible with current parts released (not fussed waiting for next gen) as Id like the PC asap. I do prefer intel personally (I know AMD is great just my preference) so if you could build around that. Main usage is pure gaming with the odd photo editing on the side.

Monitor I already have is 1440p 144hz capable. So what (upto) £1500 intel build would you do to get the best out of a Gigabyte RTX3070 OC baring in mind i’ve never overclocked beyond motherboard presets etc.

Greatly appreciate your thoughts

Rocket Lake is due next month, sure you don't want to wait for that?

Intel with Comet Lake is PCIE-3

Rocket Lake is PCIE-4

The reason I mention this is that the RTX 3070 is PCIE-4 capable. Right now Intel is not.

Otherwise you are buying 10 series, something like 10700K or 10850K.

Although at the moment pcie-4 makes little difference outside of benchmarks.

I agree if your going intel route wait a bit longer for the newest cpu to arrive as it should bring a good IPC improvemnt.
