What to get for a Ruby wedding present? Its for my in laws.
So I am more asking for traditional ideas and thoughts as its a big milestone.

I don't envy you at all with the pressure of buying for your in-laws! Maybe buy some nice jewellery? A matching pair of something for them to keep forever?! Just a thought… How about one of these classic watches for father-in-law, and a ring or necklace for mother-in-law?

Thanks for your help, no jewellery to expensive. My In-Laws are fantastic to buy for I do know im making them a anniversary cake!
Its going to have handmade sugar daffodils on a white icing and it shall be a rich fruit cake also I think the ribbon will be a ruby colour as its their ruby wedding anniversary!

How much are you guys looking to spend Mrs Seabiscuit?

We bought a short break away for my in-laws two years ago for their 40th anniversary along with a lovely cake and theatre tickets.

Thats a wonderful present but we couldn't afford anything like that sadkt. Im thinking maybe the cake as a ruby wedding present as the cost of ingredients and time is quite a lot anyway and its more personal.

I agree a cake would be a lovely present - would you be making this yourself? Or purchasing it on their behalf?

I'd also suggest getting a little something else - doesn't have to be anything expensive just something they can keep to remind them of the day.

I would be making it myself from scratch. The sugar flowers on top would be kept by them, but I do agree something else small to keep.

Well, there's your answer, make them a rugby ball shaped cake with 'Happy Rugby Wedding' on it. I'll bet they'll remember that more than any fancy gift you could give them in years to come.
