Rugby Union Summer International Thread

Well done to England thoroughly deserved their series win, shame it's the Lions next year as I would have liked to see them have a crack at a NZL tour. More of the same for Wales and giving up playing for 20 mins, this time it was 50-70 minutes, the pace NZl play at is ridiculous. Although I thought that Wales were meant to be fit! Unlucky for Ireland but it was good to see SA actually play some rugby in the 2nd half, they were awful last week.

Teimana Harrison starts in place of injured Haskell, that's a real good chance for a player who definitely has a future. Australia opt to go back to their traditional 2nd play maker at 12 with Toomua instead of Kerevi.

England: Mike Brown; Anthony Watson, Jonathan Joseph, Owen Farrell, Jack Nowell; George Ford, Ben Youngs; Mako Vunipola, Dylan Hartley (captain), Dan Cole, Maro Itoje, George Kruis, Chris Robshaw, Teimana Harrison, Billy Vunipola

Replacements: Jamie George, Matt Mullan, Paul Hill, Joe Launchbury, Courtney Lawes, Jack Clifford, Danny Care, Elliot Daly

Australia: Israel Folau, Dane Haylett-Petty, Tevita Kuridrani, Matt Toomua, Rob Horne, Bernard Foley, Nick Phipps; James Slipper, Stephen Moore, Sekope Kepu, Will Skelton, Rob Simmons, Scott Fardy, Michael Hooper, Sean McMahon

Replacements (one player to be omitted): Tatafu Polota-Nau, Scott Sio, Greg Holmes, Adam Coleman, Dean Mumm, Wycliff Palu, Nick Frisby, Christian Lealiifano, Taqele Naiyaravoro

Who would have really called that ;)

What a credit to England that Australian bloke is :D :D

I genuinely think we are the No.2 team in the world right now and closer to New Zealand than the ranking points credit, something has happened in the heads of the players and rather than believe the hype they believe the facts instead.

The next big thing they have to overcome now is the first time they lose, because it will happen and it will be a test of the character whether they just take on the chin or implode.

Eddie Jones will get an honour in the New Year, I'm calling it now and he'll love getting it because he's totally embraced what he's doing :)

Eddie Jones will go up even further in my estimation if he can get Mike Brown to pass.

Pfft, when you're that wriggly you don't need to pass.

The series has been great, but I still think our offloading game has a long way to go. Watching NZ slice through Wales was something else.

England also beat Ireland in the U20s World Championship final 45-21 to win the title for the third time in the last 4 years. What with the Saxons winning their South Africa series 2-0 as well this summer, English Rugby Union is in a very good place right now.

What an awful performance to finish the tour for Wales, didn't seem to offer anything. Well done to england for their 3-0 win, haven't seen the game but got the highlights recorded and judging by the score should be a good one.

Yeah Wales looked tired a lot of big names were walking around the pitch after half time. Roberts, Biggar, Davies, AWJ and Warburton were well below their previous best.

Beauden Barrett has been one of my favourite players to watch for a number of years now and he is operating on another level to most NH flyhalves, deadly passing, kicking or running. It's a real tussle between him and Cruden at the moment.

Just read the Ireland match review. I'm surprised Elton Janties fly-halfed for the Boks he's never looked international standard when I watched him in Super 15. Was he any good?
