RULE THE PREHISTORIC OCEAN - ULTIMA PLESIOSAUR CUSTOM W/C SYSTEM

ocuk always come as standard only (never do any premium one!) have to pay extra for any high end graphic card, ssd etc. Not worth the extra on top of £2047!

This system has a GTX 570, I'd say that's a high end graphics card personally.
Also, a 128GB SSD is part of the standard spec.
So, I'm a little unsure what you're saying.
If we only offered the most expensive components in every system, how many people would buy them? Offering a system with options to upgrade the graphics card, etc, gives potential buyers options for more budgets.

That's hideously expensive :(

It's a high end system. High end parts cost more money than low end parts. It's also water cooled - not only does actual water cooling cost more than a standard cooler such as a H50, it takes longer to set up and test, this is accounted for in the pricing.

dont they build all systems on request? so I doubt they just have one sitting around to take pics of..

If someone buys one, I'm sure ocuk will take pics of the build and more details, so whos going to buy one :D

Come on Nath, still lacking info on this system. :D

Motherboard is the Z68X-UD7, the SSD is the Crucial M4 128GB and the watercooling is:

EK Supreme LT CPU Block
Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator
EK Reservoir Combo DCP 2.2
EK DCP 2.2 Pump
Yate Loon D12SL-12 Fans
EK PSC Compression fittings
Tygon Clear Tubing

OcUk should build one to show the people in this thread, Then offer it to me for a discount price of £1500 ;)

I see that it is still being advertised as powered by a gtx580 when in fact it has a 570 and the 580 is extra.

Did someone in the office come up with this name after reading the bbc news article about the plesiosaur head which has just been pieced together after being found down Dorset way?

plesiosaur not the same as pliosaur

a plesiosaur is a well known aquatic dinosaur, whereas the pliosaur is the newly discovered species.
I know probably no-one gives a damn about this, and is far more interested in the computer being worth £2k or not. personally, it's too much for what it is but that's just my opinion

Ah not entirely correct.

Plesiosaurs species contains plesiosaurides and plesiosauria.

Plesiosaurides are the traditional long necked and shell shaped body reptiles whereas plesiosauria contain pliosaurs with are larger yet short necked reptiles.

Plesiosaur examples:

Plesiosaurus
Elasmosaurus

Pliosaur examples:
Kronosaurus
Liopleurodon

However Pliosaurs whilst similar in appearence are not to be confused with Mosasaurs.

Back on topic :p

We are building a demo Plesiosaur system early next week!

You guys have asked and ye shall receive.

We are doing a build log for the system also which can be found HERE

Here is a little taster of what will be used in the system

If rjk and nath are designing the layout and water cooling, then I'm pretty sure this is going to be a nice system as they don't now how to make crap builds.

Who ever buys one will be more than happy.
