Hi guys, can somebody help me? there is nothing wrong with my gtx460 i just think that the fan is way too loud and i dont want it. Would i be able to send it back to get a refund or does it have to be faulty??

Thanks x

+1 only downside is returning recorded at your own expense.

No different to returning a faulty or DOA item though. That always irritates me... If an item is faulty and needs replacing, the retailer should be responsible for the return postage. At least in my eyes...

Very true mate. As I said it is something to consider when sending back under dsr if you just want to change to a different card or whatever. I paid £21 to return mine not long ago :S so you have to weigh up if it's worth the extra expense/the bother.

A couple of retailers I use actually send a courier to come and collect the package. Maybe OCUK could look into doing something like this if they don't already.

^^^
I must have used more packaging, I got stung for £26.
Recorded should be fine...

depending on the weight of the card, it can be cheaper to send it back with Parcel Force 48 + the extra to protect the value of the item up to £250.

check out parcel2go

Wow - thanks for the hint on this...

I may well need to send back a 30" screen, which as you can imagine is pretty damn big and heavy. Looks like I can get it done with parcel2go for around a tenner! It would have been several times price that with royal mail...

edit: Nevermind - that's assuming no insurance. If I want it insured then it'll cost more than going directly through royal mail...

I agree that under DSR the customer should be responsible for the return postage.

... and I guess I've just been shopping with the wrong retailers then, because I've never had one offer to refund shipping for faulty goods  Back in the day I had someone pick up a faulty CRT monitor on behalf of Iiyama, but that was nothing to do with the retailer.

They are responsible for refunding faulty items return postage though. Most of them (especially the large ones) will attempt to fob you off, they will also claim back the outgoing postage when sent back under the DSR. A quick phonecall stating chapter and verse normally solves that.

They are responsible if it's faulty, just some stores may not inform you of the fact.

£21 they saw you coming royal mail can send 1.5kg for £8.65 with £500 compensation, I also sent my 5770 to a MM buyer and it cost all of £6 don't know hwere some of you are getting those silly prices you quote(my quotes were all next day special delivery)

if the retailer doesnt specifically requests in their contract terms that the buyer pays return postage, then the retailer has to foot the bill.(dsr)

£6 Sounds like next day recorded delivery to me....
