Hi All,

On the 27th of this month myself and my sister, Sam, are running 10k for Cancer Research UK, at Coombe Abbey Country Park, near Coventry.
Our auntie died from breast cancer 6 years ago, so it's a charity very close to us. Neither of us have run 10k before, so it's a challenge for us :)

If anyone would like to sponsor us, please find my/our sponsorship page here: http://www.run10ksponsorme.org/westben

If not, then any support would be greatly appreciated, is anyone else running at any of the events this year?

Many thanks, Ben

Hey

I ran the Great Manchester 10k for Cancer research and I am running the Great North for a Kids Charity. It is a great day and the crowds really carry you round!

I did the 10k in 50 minutes which I was really pleased with, as I have never done a run before!

Enjoy the day, just dont get the running bug like me, my legs are like lead and my knees are shot ;)

Must dash, off for a run

I can't sponsor you until I'm paid later this month, but I will!

All the best with with it though, glad it's for a good cause and one I support :)

I did quite a lot, a lot more than I have done for this upcoming half marathon

Don't worry too much about it, 10k is not that far and you will get so carried away in the atmosphere that you will be done before you know it.

Just have a good breakfast to keep you going - best to eat your normal breakfast, don't try anything new as you might upset your stomach.

I tend to have a nice bowl of porridge a good few hours before the run.

I am way short of my sponsorship target for this run, oops!

Good luck with this, I would sponsor if I had a means of paying but I'm a gimp without a real bank account :( I think I'm going to be doing this myself next year too, such a worthwhile cause, I've lost a few family members to cancer and 1 other has incurable cancer now so I want to do as much as possible to help.

There are loads of events, fidn the one closest to you here: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/10k/choose-your-event/

It's £19.50 to enter, well worth it, and you get a free T-shirt too.
