.. or in this case from a vmware install, same principle.

It is a bit clunky but it works :)

Not quite sure what real world application this would have yet, apart from code testing on IE etc.. it is basically calling the apps over RDP but you don't get the desktop background, so works on the same principle as RDP (not that special sound, 3d etc).

I haven't tried it in vista yet, would be interesting if that worked..

Oooh that looks clever.

I imagine it would be expecially handy for anyone who spends a lot of time switchting between Linux and Windows. This way you can bring it all together in one environment.

running foobar in linux is very appealing to me. no doubt there will be sound issues but i'll give it a go....

edit: probably be a non-starter thinking about it. doh! :o

That is great, but my sound won't work in Linux, so it would suck to not have sound when I need to be in Vent. for corp. stuff in EvE. Not sure why the sound won't work, it detechs my chip??

What linux and what sound?

OpenSuSE 10 & M5455 PCI AC-Link Controler Audio Device tech info on board site says Audio Codec AD1888, but when I pick that it says "The kernel module snd-intel8x0 for sound support could not be loaded. This can be cuase by incorrect module perameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters" . Why can't PC board makers ditch this IRQ crap? Applee did.

Fantastic, I've been wondering about such an app for some time now.

Ever since I've started using Linux primarily but needing the odd app that's on windows.

So for this to work, does the virtual machine have to be fully open and running? with the only advantage being you can keep it minimized to the system tray to save opening up the VM window?

Yes that's pretty much it in a nutshell - it isn't a pot of gold but with the right application it could be useful.

Unfortunately gaming isn't going to work else it would be fantastic!

That looks awesome- Being able to run PhotoShop Elements whilst not booting into Windows will be excellent :)

What is it like speed-wise?
