rundll32 error

when i try and delete my temp internet files it keeps hanging with programme not responding and comes up with a run32dll error or something like that.tried rebooting ect,run various virus scans ect but still wont work.any ideas?has happened before ages ago and cant remember what i did to get rid of it.

thinks i have a virus somewhere :(
 
system restore has no effect on it even goign back to time of fresh install of xp.re downloading the rundll32 file doesnt work keeps saying one file not found ect.
well looks like a fresh xp install again :mad: :mad: :mad:

then theres info that its a documents/temp folder/rundll32.exe

If you have your copy of your operating system to hand, whack it in and try the recovery option.

Edit: That is not a re-install. Just make that clear. :p
 
well it works now but i didnt do anything that was usggested.i started to restore components off windows cd but decided i hadnt picked right option.i rebooted with windows cd in and cos my cd is sp1 and i got sp2 installed i couldnt update.so i rebboted and it got to the start windows normally 30 sec countdown then started up and worked.apps open quicker by miles and deleted all temp files.bloody computers
