Runescape - Advert on TV!

If you are over age 14+ and you are playing this game, you should feel deeply ashamed of yourself.

The world's great literature sits on a shelf unread and you're prattling around with a fancy Flash app cutting down trees and working on your mining skills for 350 hours.

You menk!

Flash != Java :rolleyes:

The point was it's a **** game, an idle curiosity, and people that spend 1000's of hours of their time on it make about as much sense as the people that played Nokia Snake for 4 hours a day to beat a 'high score'.

I.e. they are mentally imbalanced.

Wow another mentally imbalanced moron mistaking their opinion for fact.

Please, enlighten us to what games you play?

I stopped playing a year or two ago, left my account @ this:

Do you ever plan on playing again? Seems a waste otherwise :(.

Because the two are of course mutually exclusive. Yeah I play an online game for an extended period of time, but I also read extensively, produce music, and do about a million other things.

Hardly. It's a hobby. Read my above comment.

One of my friends sold a Christmas cracker for 200k...

Are there still in-game celebrities like zezima was (is?)

Oh dear. Give him a slap from me to him will ya :D?

And yeah, kinda. I don't think in the same way that he was though, most of them are just popular Runescape video makers mostly. It's kinda the same as when you used to see a level 126, you knew they were awesome. Now if you see a 138 it's nothing special. You won't see hundreds of people following them anymore, it's just a few people say hi to them and move on.

I remember when I was on World 1, outside varrock west, I traded my santa for full addy (g) because they were both worth 500k at the time :(

So what's a good way to get back into the game now and get some gold?

Managed to be a bit special and lose near enough my entire bank; still have about 2 million left if I sell everything though. Should be enough to buy some basic barrows and a whip?

I'm thinking just grind out some slayer assignments? Any suggestions as to what's a good way to get back into the game?

Hobbies are constructive. Hobbies are personally refining.

RuneScape is a timesink. A black hole. A 'hobby'? You're being creative there.

To a lot of people, gaming is a hobby, even if you, personally, don't like the game. A hobby can be anything that somebody enjoys spending their time doing. You, nor anybody else can decide what people are allowed to spend their own time doing.

I don't play any games as much as the average RuneScaper plays RuneScape...

So that question makes no sense. I'm not going to substitute another title as if it's alright.

RuneScape is a repetitious grind that lures people into the psychological enjoyment of process (w/ its arbitrary scaled dopamine releases). You become convinced you're making 'progress' and 'achievements' when really all you are doing is slaving away at nothingness. That character earlier with 99/99 on almost all traits: how much time? and for what?

You're just moaning at a way that people choose to spend their time, doing something they enjoy. Why does it matter to you? We could sit here and mock how you spend your time, but simply, we don't care. A lot of people would probably think what you do is a waste, yet we're not sitting here moaning at you.

How do you know how much those who play Runescape play? I'm still interested in what games you play so I can judge you for it.

Started playing and really got into the game big time in early 2003, such great memories.

I agree though was when Runescape 2 was unveiled as the beta and then fully integrated into the game, it just sort of ruined the game after that and about 3 months later I completely lost interest and so did my mates. If I remember right I think my main character reached level 60 and I only needed to do that last quest where you kill the big demon thing so you can wear Rune plate (had Rune everything, and was stuck at having to wear Rune chain haha). Obviously since then though by the looks of it loads of new quests have been created, I never delved into the subscription based Runescape though.

I still know my account details for my character and I perhaps log in twice a year if that nowadays just for a look.
