Running before breakfast a better time for burning fat?

You know CW is talking a massive amount of sense.

Think about it in the morning you've woken up after a 8 hour sleep or so your not exactly in a mode to be fully aware and your body isn't full awake since it hasn't had any food in it therefore theres no activity so your more prone to injury.

i read up to that part and then i stopped

No, CW is just repeating the garbage he reads on crappy tinternet articles because the argument against pre breakfast cardio suits him ;)

The best way is a slow jogging pace or even fast walking, this will kick Lipolysis into gear without doubt.
It's only a crappy article because it doesn't suit you.... erm... deamination!!! :p

Did you lose concentration? Or can you just not read very well?

I've heard that both slow jogging and HIIT are both good ways of burning fat, just one takes longer to achieve the same result. It comes down to whatever suits you, as there can't be a huge difference between doing it in the morning or after work. It's still work and it still burns calories.

Okay im just going to do it down to what I believe. To burn fat to start off I did slow jogs and what not because I couldn't run without geting stiches etc. I then decided to start running (not jogging) for roughly 30 minutes, about 20 minutes running and the other 10 jogging/fast walking. In the period I did this I lost the most amount of weight and fat. I didn't do it in the morning either.

So lets recap, I went from 26+% body fat to 11.3% in 6 months, only 3 of those were when the sucess was made. I dropped from about 17 stone to in-between 13/13.5 stone which it fluctuates in weight in that area.

Thats impressive SK07... I need to do just that... I'm currently 12.5 stones and I wanna get it down to 10.5 stones. I reckon I can knock a stone off pretty easily but running every morning (Monday-Friday).

I'm thinking of doing the same. I'm not really interested in weight training tbh, and just want to stay healthy. What would the weights bring into the equasion? I'm a despiser of gym's so don't really want to sign up...but there is one 5mins walk away to be aifr, so I could if needed...
When you say 30min fast fin - What exactly are you talking about? Just a solid pace for 30mins then back home? This could work out well for me before dinner as there is no way I could do it in the mornings...

The weights would potetntially help maintain/increase your overall muscle. More muscle = faster metabolism = faster FAT loss. Weights are always good.

It's just that I don't want to end up looking like an ape with massive arms & shoulers and no lower body.

Also - Another reason for me signing up is becuase I'm going skiing in 3 months. Would excersises would you all reccomend?

Ps - Just found out that for today & tomorrow my local Gym are letting you sign up without paying a joining fee! Get in!

M8, you won't end up looking like an ape I guarentee it, if your worried about getting huge that takes years but ontop of that it also takes a diet with a whole lotta food lol.

I highly recommend weight training because without it, and you just sit on a treadmill all day or whatever you will end up either skinny pencil thin or skinny fat, I highly doubt you want either of those. When losing weight your not just losing fat you have the ability to catabolize meaning your muscle will soon get used up for fuel, this is why you see long distance runners, they are all skinny and look somewhat ill, sprinters on the other hand don't they weight train and do cardio (sprinting) yet they generally have very good physiques due to this.

I highly recommend you weight train at least 3 times per week, you don't have to neglect your legs, do a split like:

Mon: Chest/Biceps/Triceps
Wed: Back/Shoulders
Fri: Legs

That way your hitting each muscle group of your body meaning that your going to encourage muscle growth but also the fact that you will preserve muscle as you will help preserve as your always weight training. So at the end of the day this will leave you with a more muscular physique NOT huge! but "toned" since thats a common word used. See everyone here like CW, Morba, Jeffstar, MTA etc etc they all weight train with intension of getting bigger. They have been doing it for years yet they aren't ape like (well maybe for the exception of Morba :p). But what im trying to say is you won't get huge whilst on a healthy moderate calorie controlled diet, doing a lot of cardio and doing weight training, you'll add definition but other than that you won't get "bigger" like your talking about.

But you should read up on articles just to see for yourself, every single person in this section has their own opinions on what they think is best, but what they think is best might not work so great for you? so find your own path. When I first got into this I read tons of articles and asked tons of questions, and there is no real definitive answer on what is right or wrong, it's opinion based.

Thats was my understanding too ,I remember reading it in a book ,fat first then muscle as a last resort !

Well perhaps they have changed there minds !

The first one makes more sense !

There are tests that can be done that will map out how your body utilises calories and where it gets them from first. This then allows you to tailor your training to be a lot more effective :]

Squats, deadlifts, and in aerobic terms - cross trainer and treadmill.

X2. Cross trainer and treadmill worked best for me. The treadmill was the huge breakthrough of fat loss for me, it pretty much just slipped off, alough atm I can't do the treadmill because of a damn shin splint which isn't going away but I recommend you do that. Vary it up though so your body keeps guessing, give your body a shock each time, thats why a lot of people do HIIT because it's varying your routine changing speed and what not constantly so it keeps your body guessing and it will go for fat for fuel, it's harder work but it takes less time.

Squats and deadlifts are ones you want to stick to alike above, compound movements are the best for your growth or preservation of muscle. Don't forget to hit all muscles though rather than just this and that.
