How much slack would you recommend leaving at the patch panel end?

Can I cross electricity cables at all? Seems impossible to me to route the cables without doing so at some point.

Any other tips?

Thanks

Sorry, should have said...

Converting a outside garage into an living/office space. Installing the network cable before the plasterboard goes up. Running CAT5e into almost every corner of the kitchen/living room/bedrooms for future/other use. It's not currently an office/business scenario, just a learning exercise and future proofing.

It's a small building and could run everything via wireless, but where's the fun in that!

Coaxial has been installed by the electrician, one point to the kitchen and both bedrooms, two to the living room as I haven't decided on the layout yet. Patch panel under the stairs

Can the RJ45 modules be reused or once they're punched down, that's it? Stupidly, I have only ordered the exact amount I need and have never wired one before.

Wired my first module and it works!

Not happy with the technique though.

Is my cable coming in from the correct direction?
What's the little flappy bit highlighted by my finger?
The spec states "Cable tie base to relieve cable stress". But I cant find any hole where this could be done?

Edit: Do I tie the cable to the flappy bit with the cable tie?
