You have a very odd habit of justifying everything you say with obvious facts or dropping your personal wealth in to the thread. If you can afford 10 F40s, I'd suggest talking to a financial advisor rather than asking a forum about how to buy a car.

Why does it create alarm bells ? Several buddies have had that exact scenario play out at 2am at night with thieves trying to steal their cars. You give the armed theif your keys, ring the police, they dont do anything about it, so you lose out.

Oh crap sorry Peerzy I completely got this thread confused with the other more dubious one! I apologise it has been rather ruined.

My MX5 costs me about £50 a month to run not including petrol. It's invincible and doesn't break despite tracking it and driving it fairly hard, things for it are super cheap. I couldn't afford to drive a car that costs real money to run without growing up in a fair few ways.

My mate emailed me to say he's phoned about that Boxster S and it's being preped at the moment and would be coming in on Saturday. My mate doesn't recon he could get over there till Monday when the sales guy is off and my mate is busy the rest of the week.

Nightmare - I'm sure they'll sort a time out but he's gonna go and have a look and probably test it and see.

He can get any 20k motor he wants and run it. Nothing he buys will run anything close to 12k worth of bills PA.

If I was looking to spend 20k and had as much disposable income as your friend, I would have a look at a new Lotus Europa. Put 20k down and take the rest on the never never.

He earns a fair wack now but no reason to say in 3 years time he wants to buy a house, or go travelling. Doesn't want to be committed to anything which is fair enough.

They are great cars the Boxster S, just dont skimp on the spec, dont settle for a 2.7 when you can get the 3.2 for example.
