Running CSS dedicated server help!

Hey guys. Well I need some help as i've set up a server with mani admin and all that and it works fine but only over lan. Even with sv_lan 0. The reason being that I can't seem to get it to work with my internet ip and instead only works on 192.168.1.50:27016

When I add my external Ip 86.29.1.47 (using whatsmyip.com to find it) into the command line for starting the server it tells me that it can't allocate a port to that ip.

Suggestions?

Also trying to use cmd via the command:

srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 33 -ip 86.29.1.47 -port 27016 -maxplayers 20 +map de_dust2

gives me the same error and yes I was in the directory of srcds where my server files are.

Are you running the server from your own computer or are you paying for it through a server company?

A friend of mine runs his own public server from his computer, if nobody helps you in the meantime if he comes on ventrillo i will ask him if he can help.

Also, on a side note - 33 tic? ehhhh super lame.

You need to open the port on your router to the pc hosting the server.

I found out the problem guys. It was because I have my router plugged into the "stupid hub" (aka virgin superhub) and I forgot it meant I had to port forward the "stupid hub" as well. Though I found an option to change it to a modem which wasn't on there before so i just used that. Now it works fine.

As for the tick rate. Well I'm unsure what to set the tick rate as. I have 30Mb virgin media and have an upload speed of 3Mb I think. I don't think that can handle 100 tick.

They basically eradicated 100 tic servers from the game a little while ago. They released a huge update that changed the dynamics of the game (the way guns shoot etc) and made it that 66tic provided the best gameplay. Nearly all servers now are 66 tic, which is the optimal ticrate for this game. Whats the server IP? I'll add it to my faves!! Steam name is Lima*.
