running out of ideas - samsung green & msi x79

I just dialled in 11,12,11 32 1t at 1.6v straight of the bat and left it for further tweaking. Once I get my board back from Rma! I'll have to tax 8P's brain for some good tweaking settings.
 
Sounds promising, thats tighter then my kingston 2400mhz kit would tune!!

I ultimately decided on G.Skill after I saw some review posts saying that basically G.Skill get first dibs on binning chips along side Corsair and the rest pretty much get the scraps neither of those want.

Didn't you just buy a RIVE last week??

That was also on the UD7 and they were rock solid at that speed.

You are correct! The RIVE ran fine apart from it not out putting any onboard sound via the jack plugs on the board.

Yeah! It was a bit unfortunate. Although as we speak it's winging it's way down to Overclockers and should be with them by tomorrow. I just hope it gets pushed through pretty quick :)

I've no idea how quick or even slow Asus deal with RMA's.

Look on the bright side P! I've saved you the hassle, if you had bought it :D

Samsung isn't looking promising, 2000mhz 11-14-14-40-180-2T is failing memtest too. I'm getting the same sort of feedback as when I had some vengeance dimms on the UD7, can feel ok, but ultimately fails.
 
I tuned the 2133mhz C9 Ripjaw Kit after seeing this. See below. They are mem test Hyper Pi and all benches stable.

Looking like an MSI related issue then :)

No such beta BIOS's exist for the Xpower II afaik, last beta was 1.45b, been two 'official' releases since that in 1.5 and 2.1.

You had this confirmed by MSI mate? 2450 @ CL10!! Can't wait to get them.

Got some 2400mhz kingston coming next week too, so I'll probably keep them in reserve.

Looks like I'll be selling the sammy greens then!!
 
Kingston kit is getting picked up today, so depending when I finish work I'll have a play with them tonight :)
 
Me either :( I've either been hit by droop, memory or mid-build issues!!

2400mhz in, booted first time of asking at 2400mhz, left SA and VTT on auto, SA is auto at 1.35v and VTT at 1.25v. So I'll try work those down at a later date. Changed one timing and that was taking them down from 11-13-11-2T to 11-13-11-1T. I'll fiddle with the rest later and still have a g.skill kit to come!!

But this just about confirms it, Samsung Green + MSI = nope.
 
You and me both! That's why I've been chopping and changing. From the little time I had with the Asus board. I think it will pair well with the Gskill ram I've got. Have you bought the X Series Ram or the Z Series?
