Have a multi role PC, when not gaming would like to leave it powered on and use a a Plex server.

I know afterburner can have 2D/3D profiles but cant seem to get them to work?

Is there anything I can use to down clock my CPU
other than going into the BIOS each time and applying a different preset?

The PC has an ssd and four HDD's and reset of specs in sig.

If you have EIST enabled it will down clock automatically for you.

Unless you turned this off its usually enabled by default. Meaning your system should be doing this already.

CPU is always @ 4.5ghz

you need to enable

eist
c3/c6
c1e

auto wont work anymore idk why but it used to,i think its down to a windows update but setting them to enabled will make them work

cpu will use less than 1v at idel/full voltage if stressed

and you also need to use normal cpu voltage and dvid it wont downclock if you use a fixed cpu voltage

Make use of the baked in Windows power profiles; if you spend a little time configuring the options, you can practically switch off all major power drains when they aare not in use.

I have adopted this approach with my HTPC.

ok try

cpu voltage set to normal (scroll through voltage till you see normal)

set dvid to +0.050

set loadline calibration to high

set pwm phase control to extreme performance

set vcore voltage response to fast

manually set cpu/pcie clock to 100

try that, then see how much cpu voltage in cpu-z while stressing,if too much try +0.040v dvid,if too low try +0.060v in dvid

get it as close to 1.38v as you can

aslong as you do that and enable eist/c3/c6 and c1e it will downclock

THese were my current settings
