Running programs installed on another HDD, after OS re-install

Hi,

I was just wondering, on my system I have an SSD and a 1TB HDD

I have the OS on the SSD and I install most programs onto the HDD, so all the program files are on the HDD

If I was to reinstall Windows on the SSD, how would I use the programs installed on the regular HDD, or would I need to reinstall them again

unless they are specifically portable apps, you'll need to install them again. all sorts of settings get written to the windows registry and files to the windows folder/your user profile when they are installed. all this would be lost on a clean install.
