Anyone know any companys that do them special type shoes where you go on a treadmill and they analyse the way you run so they can make an edit to the shoe for you...?

Thanks :)

Some places do custom superfeet insoles for ~£50. The black version would be the type for running shoes I believe.

i had custom soles, but it was infact worse for me than normal shoes

i overpronate & have something wrong with my ankle (after i broke it) but i use asics and it seems ok

Have a look in your area for a podiatrist who specialises in biomechanics. Often they will take measurements of your feet, leg length, analyse walking and running patterns and perform a pressure plate analysis etc. One near me charges £40 which includes the initial assessment, the orthotics (insoles) and a follow-up appt.
Avoid shop bought orthotics, they are not specifically designed for YOUR feet and are often WAY overpriced. Get the professionals to custom make some for you.
Are you having any problems at the minute or is it more of a prevention thing?

This months mens health has a nice section on running shoes and selecting whats best for your style

That is what I want yeah, the problem is I have a slight bend when I run from an injury with my foot. The doctor recommended their shoe modifications which are only for shoes and they dont do running shoes. So this is the next best alternative....ty for that info too

You pay £100!!
These pods are top class. They work in the NHS but do private work too. I just referred a fella to them (14 month waiting list), he decided to go private instead to cut down the wait (saw exactly the same people). He came back and showed me his orthotics, they had done a good job as well! ;)

No I don't need orthotics, so have never bought any. The cost is from conversations I've had with podiatrists in the past. I pay £40 for just a biomechanical assesment and so find it hard to believe you'd get custom orthotics thrown in at that price as well.

Probably a regional thing. As a physio I have collegues who charge only £20 for their initial assessment but also know ones who charges £70.
