Running Shoes

They do. I’d suggest going to run 4 it and they’ll record you running on a treadmill and give you a recommendation for what shoe will best suit your stride.

You don’t need to buy them but it’ll help and it should help reduce the chance of injury. I wouldn’t be running every day though. Remember you’ve got to rest.

Thanks for the advice. :)

As for running every day, I've been taking one break per week but the guide I'm following tells me to run one day and rest the next, so yea maybe I should be doing that!

I've been feeling fine with it but probably risking injury by not resting, so I'll stick to the programme. :)

Running every day is fine as long as you're doing it at an easy enough level. If you're going out every day like you're trying to beat your 5k time then sure it's an issue, but doing it nice and easy should be fine. There's loads of people on massive running streaks. Just take rests when you feel like your body needs it or after harder sessions.

Those Nikes are probably fine too, they're specific running shoes and look to have decent cushioning. Sure they're not high end, but are probably absolutely fine. It's probably more important to just replace them every 500 miles or so rather than running them into the ground. It's easy to get sucked into thinking you need to spend ~£150 on a pair.

If Nike work for you then the Pegasus range is ideal as a daily shoe. Always worth finding the previous models in the sales. Technology doesn't really move on much from year to year.

It's entry level I'm at just now - I've started following a 10 week plan to 10k, and I'm on week 2. I'm really just trying to build up stamina and improve on recovery times at the moment.

Its complicated, for best results runners have gait analysis done and choose running shoes based on the results.

Or the next best option is to try several on in a store and find ones that feel most natural to you.

Zero drop, cushioned according to weight
Run 3-4 days a week
1 long run (peak ability), the rest 6-7/10
Focus on high cadence, mid foot strike, slight bend in knee

Have never gotten on with any shoes I’ve had fitted for me :/ Have used good running shops as well

I’m around 100kg so medium/high cushion works well.
