Running with a black bag

hey guys, ive recently taken up jogging as a way too get fit, lose weight and just too get outside for a bit. I run about 4 miles, 3 times a week and i run with a blackbag under my thermal top thingy. apparently this is what the boxers do or whatever.
Now here's the question, are there any health risks I have too think about while running with a blackbag on, my friend has mentioned overheating. but im not sure what that is. thanks
 
I'm guessing its to make you sweat more. You need to make sure that you drink plenty or you will start getting dehydrated. I guess on a sunny day there is a chance of heat stroke too?
 
Thought boxers only did that before the fight to get to the weight limit, and then after weigh-in the rehydrate again...

Could be talking bobbins tho...
 
What may be more useful is running while holding the bag open above your head, it would certainly mean you have to work harder.
 
If you increase your heart rate and your body becomes warm you start to sweat. Sweat is the bodies way of trying to cool itself down. Wearing a bin liner restricts your bodies ability to cool down, therefore you sweat more.

In simple terms, this is just water from your body sweating out. Whilst the exercise of jogging will help you lose weight, any *extra* 'weight' you do lose from sweating more in the bin liner will be replenished when you re-hydrate after.

You'll probably get sores over your body from rubbing on the plastic bag but I think it's a waste of time.

Why not get a heavy vest and jog with that instead? You can put weights in it to make yourself heavier, therefore making jogging harder, boxers also wear these when training.
 
From the thread title I had anticipated someone wanting to know whether it would be silly to go running around with a black bag, burgleresque. :p
 
its basically so you sweat lk a mothertrucker and you do have too work harder because you get so hot.

You wont have to work harder you will just sweat more and overheat faster which wont be good for anything, I dont think that will bring you any benefits.
 
Fill the bag with sheets or something, paint "SWAG" on the side of it, then run round/past a police station and see how long it takes for someone inside to notice you.

Steal a stripey jumper from a frenchman and a hamburglar mask from McDonalds and wear those for added effect.
 
Oh black bag as in bin bag, I thought you were on about some special black running bag or something like that LOL

I run 2.5 miles a day :p

The first day was great but on the 2nd and 3rd day every single part that moves was aching. Then do it all again :d
