Anyone else go to the MEN last night?
I didn't go to the Snakes and Arrows tour in 2007 as I wasn't the biggest fan of the album, sure it had a few good tunes, but most were just average and I didn't want to go and be disappointed. I saw Deep Purple (who were great) a few years back and Styx and Thin Lizzy supported (obviously not original members, but Thin Lizzy were quite poor) and it jaded it for me somewhat having not had the chance to see them in their heyday.
I still regretted not seeing Rush as you never know how many more tours bands will do now, so managed to get tickets for the MEN at the start of the year as soon as they came out, plus as they are the original band and still releasing material I expected a decent performance.
I needn't have worried about being disappointed. It was flippin' amazing.
Fireworks, shooting balls of flame, a drum kit that took up 360 degrees around Neil Peart!
Oh and they played for just over 3 hours too!
I would definately go and see them again as obviously their library of material can't be covered in just one live show, and if you saw them again im sure that at least 50% of the tunes would be different.
They get a 10/10 from me, just the high prices of both tickets and the stuff at the arena is annoying. £65 a ticket, plus £4 a plastic pint and the merchandise was expensive, £60 for a hoody?!
