Didn't Merc stick him on a high downforce setup, so he can't overtake. It was mentioned on the grid walk when they compared the RB rear wing with Bottas and Lelerc.

He may have leant on his second set of tyres too much early on. I guess we’ll find out over the next few laps.

Cant wait for Russell in that Merc. Bottas is F2 material today.
Bottas again shows why he's always a number two (and thus always the first to be sacrificed for the team's greater good). He's a decent driver that lucked into a good seat, but a terrible racer, and that's why he's not amounted to much despite having had the best car on the grid for the last few years.
