Big difference. That involves us as a country and we all liver here and there is something we can do about it.
He could've been acting as a foreign agent for Germany for all we know, nobody really knows what goes on in intelligence circles. The NHS refuses foreign treatment of innocent babies claiming it knows best doesn't it? are we in any position to criticise?

The seriousness of someone potentially losing their lives doesn't though. Its hardly a joke worthy topic.
But if it is a jokeworthy topic that extends to all instances where similar outcomes occur.

Disgustingly corrupt country with endless examples of targeted killings of opposition politicians, both domestically and on foreign soil. They should be expelled from the UNSC and just about every other international club until the assassination attempts, election meddling, cyber terrorism, sports doping, and general ****ery cease.

These things have been happening since the inception of the UN. Removal of a permanent member would mean the end of the organisation, it's already minimal relevance would be reduced to nothing.
There just isn't anything to gain from further isolation, the only viable option is to keep pushing our sphere of influence right to Russia's border and hope that eventually Russia tires of being trodden upon by thieving oligarchs. The least that we can do is save Russia's neighbours from it's criminal enterprise.
You'd think the GRU would rotate chemical weapons between assassination attempts.
