Trifired 480s definitely is ok but I am still working on getting quadfire to work.
I've been working with Kaap offline and the problem was the old MST 4K display he was using. Since he used a SST 4K panel he was able to enable QuadFire support.
I have no intention of using four of them in a gaming setup haha. I agree, in that sense it's a waste of time..
Rather, it it were possible, I would have them as an enthusiast setup. Benchmarks and the likes.
Although now that you mention mining, I may have other plans...
QuadFire is definitely supported on the RX 480.

Out of the box, but you'll need 16.6.2 or later drivers for RX 480 support.
