Meh, wake me up when they get back to the RX580 price/performance ratio...

It would be lower TDP surely.
even for server use 600w+ is not sustainable.
the 3x core count 7900xt would probably have its tdp lowered per chiplet and probably clock speeds too (so the 7800xt would have higher clock speeds than the 7900xt)
Still a bit far out for credible rumours, I think.
As regards, power usage does anyone have figures for underclocked 6900XT and RTX 3090?
If chiplet works, I don't see them having any choice but to run them at or below the perf/watt sweet point for the process as cranking them crazy like a 3090 or 6700XT won't work.
Was watching the MLID video, he said that both AMD and NVIDIA want out of the sub $400 market. Again, add salt to taste, but this wouldn't surprise me.Rumoured that AMD aren't releasing anything below the 6600XT ($379), at least for a while.

Quick easy unoptimised console ports here we come! Was watching the MLID video, he said that both AMD and NVIDIA want out of the sub $400 market. Again, add salt to taste, but this wouldn't surprise me.

There is no way developers will take PC gaming seriously if the cheapest entry level card costs as much as whole console.
AMD at least get some revenue from console hardware, but it there is anything to this rumour then neither AMD or Nvidia have though this through properly have they?
Or is it the classic short-term gain (higher margins) vs long-term pain (killing the PC gaming golden goose)?
So do you want a 7900xt as they state that can use 630w ?
I expect people happily running dual 3090s would be interested. Not because of the lower power draw but the performance that would be expected.

It’s because they know Intel are coming, with their own fabs and they will eliminate AMD and Nvidias fat margins in this market segment, over time. Intel will be very competitive in the <6600XT area of the market
I thought part of the problem was supplying AMD cores with enough data, so you couldn't just keep creating them? What changed I wonder.
If only there had been multi core gpus in the past to help us in this discussion. Would be good if they were called something like gtx 590 or r295x2?
