My old man has quite a few parts in that Mazda.

Ok but he didnt ask about the colour of them, he asked about the positioning

I get the impression that penski's implying back in t'day mirrors were pretty much always positioned like this. Since that particular rx7 is pretty old, it was in the era of this style of mirror placement when the Japanese fitted them.

Bingo.

As far as I can recall, they were required on the wings...Then became optional.

I still have no idea what Simon was gibbering about with colour though...

In it? He left his pinkie in the way when they were closing the rear clamshell?

Well, he is always cutting himself when machining parts..

I was only a young-un at the time when it won but they sent us a load of merchandise afterwards even though he is a small contractor. Still got the t-shirt.. which now fits me..

Love some of them myself.. and Penski is right about the mirrors :) its the same on a lot of the old liners.

awesome cars!

love these old rx7's, either want an arched on of these with a 13b on throttle bodies or a 240ZG with arches.

I think that one is my favourite, but only just. The grey one on RS Watanabe's is very very close second. I love bolted on arches too.
