RX Vega Driver Install Problem

I had problems installing my 17.8.1.beta6 driver (the same problem as I had for the first few furyx releases - though on a different pc now) - went into installer (after running DDU and shutting down to install the card) and did custom install of all components and the screen goes blank and its game over.
The pc is alive but the monitor is getting no signal and so goes into power down/save.
So I pressed the restart button and it comes up and the screen is in the correct resolution so the driver is there now.
Check in driver manager and its installed the driver.
Re-run the setup and the audio driver was also installed but not the other two - so installed those one at a time and all is now installed ok - hopefully it will get sorted soon as with the fury after a month or two.

I have done nothing other than move it from the first slot to the second and it worked, I moved it back and it works. It isn't any better seated than the first time I installed it in the first slot.
I don't want to use the second slot because the motherboard clicks when a card is installed in that slot.

Yes it would. I think there are gains to be made. Plainly the task of juggling two massive CPU launches and a GPU launch was too much for the resources of AMD. Hopefully they can come out with some improvements quickly like they did with Polaris and Ryzen.

I got it working but I don't really know what the problem was!
It does seem smooth and the games I have tested seem good but I would like to see it with hbc enabled.
Going to test it with vr later.

Welcome to working with IT! We had a printer that would start working when a particular member of staff came in the room. I'm sure there's a technical reason why, but neither he nor any of us could ever work out what it was.
I would be very interested to hear how it does with VR. Have you a Rift or a Vive? and what games will you be trying?

I use either Relive to capture footage or an Elgato capture device. For all my Vega videos so far i have been used Relive.
No ETA on updated drivers, I'll update the Vega owners thread when they hit.
