Ryzen 1700 + 8 Pack 3200 ram = unstable

Right with my CPU at stock and the DOCP profile enabled BF1 is freezing after about 20 mins.

I'm now going to run it at 2933MHz as a test.

I don't know if the ram is faulty or not. I guess it comes with a lifetime warranty so if it is I can send it back.

I've only had it one week.

This isn't the case any more. I did the above and it froze on me after 20 mins in BF1. It's just odd as over the weekend I managed 4hrs in Origins with no issues.

Certainly sounding like you have a faulty component somewhere. Remove a stick of memory and run stability tests, if it passes, swap in the other stick and test that. See if you can identify if you have a dodgy stick.

If the ram is faulty it should fall over even at 2133MHz right?

If I stick the CPU and ram back to stock and run HCI for 400% that should tell me if the ram is faulty or not?

Not always. You need to run it at it's rated speeds to see if it's working as advertised.

But how will I know it's the ram and not the IMC?

I think you should run it at 2133 MHz first and test as that will rule out the IMC as you said.
