Ryzen 2nd Gen Hardware Compatibility

Appreciate the response (trigger now pulled), cheers. :)

Well if you want a cheaper alternative:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...-3200mhz-dual-channel-kit-blac-my-0a2-tg.html

I and a few others who received that kit found it was Samsung B-die but the C16 bin(not C14). There is also a 3600MHZ version for the same price, although I am not sure what chips that uses.

I set D.O.C.P. and it ran fine at 3200MHZ on my Ryzen 5 2600.

Also for a mini-ITX rig,a top down cooler has advantages in keeping the VRMs cool, unless the case has very good airflow.

I already own the RAM that I linked to, and I actually paid around £150 for it when I bought it believe it or not!

This is the rig it'll be going into (replacing a 6700k/Z170i) and although you don't see it in that photo, I've got an 80mm Noctua fan sitting on the glass of the reservoir and it's blowing directly onto the motherboard.

Thats a good thing. A Ryzen 7 2700X will consume more power than a 6700K,when both are compared at stock clockspeeds. Also shiny rig!!

Cheers.

That little rig was built a few months ago using spare kit (6700k/Z170i/980ti) and it was really built in preparation for Intel's successor to the 8700k & Nvidia's successor to the 1080ti, which I intended to be installing into it and making it my main rig (build log here if you're interested). It's been sitting on that shelf gathering dust ever since.

Having finally stopped laughing at the ridiculous launches from both companies, I've decided to have a wee play with AMD kit and hopefully next year I'll drop in a Ryzen 3000 series.

... so that was all a long winded way to tell you that when I've got the 2700x & 1080ti installed in there, I'll finally remove the protection stickers and get it into daily service. :)

Hello string,

Sorry to necro an old thread.
I've found myself in a similar situation, as I own the same processor and ram. If you could confirm whether or not you went through with your purchase of the Asus ROG Strix X470-I Gaming AMD X470 (Socket AM4) DDR4 Mini-ITX Motherboard and found all the components to be compatible, I'd be extremely grateful!
