Yeah 1600 CPU now with a high end motherboard and in the summer sell the 1600 and get the new 3600 cpu to drop into the same motherboard, that will last you years. Ah well.

Now got the 2700 up and running. Still got some more games to test, but so far it looks like it's got ludicrous amounts of power to spare compared with the 8350, and I'm back to being healthily GPU bottlenecked for 3440x1440 gaming, like the way it should be Have to smile that it's only using about half the power and all

Ryzen 2600 with an overclock to 4.2ghz on all cores for maximum performance and cheapest cost. It performs better than a 2600x.
It's a bit late now, but I get where you're coming from. I'm following similar logic with the 2700 vs 2700x, though not O/Cing yet as there's no need.
Having been through a lot of reviews on the 2700, they've kept saying for $30 more just get the 2700x. Obviously out of date as the 2700x is more like £100 more these days.
