Hi all,
This follows on from my thread here in the monitors section. I have since ruled out the GPU and the monitors as the issue.
My PC (in sig) has been encountering issues since the update from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Often (but not every time) when I move a program from one monitor to another, there will be a temporary stutter. Both monitors will flicker and blank to a black screen for a moment and then return. As I worked through the possible fixes, the issue developed into longer faults, with the screens going black and only the cursor able to move. Sound would continue as always. When the screens returned, Netflix would still run but audio only. I understand this to be the graphics driver restarting.
I went through the following steps in an attempt to identify and/or remedy the issue:
Does this now leave the CPU and Motherboard as primary suspects?
I can't help but feel there's no coincidence that the update to Win11 was shortly before this issue manifested itself. Whether it's Win11 being rubbish (compared to Win10) or just being too much for my machine, I am not sure. Can anyone help shed light on how I can get my system to be the nice stable machine it once was? It feels like it should have lasted longer than 5 years.

I went through the following steps in an attempt to identify and/or remedy the issue:
- Executed DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) for a clean removal of all NVIDIA drivers.
- Rolled back to a known-stable NVIDIA Studio Driver (576.88) (confirmed the issue persists).
- Updated AMD X570 Chipset Drivers and Motherboard BIOS to the latest available AGESA version.
- Disabled the NVIDIA HD Audio Driver via Device Manager.
- Disabled Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS).
- Disabled Virtualization-Based Security (VBS).
- Set NVIDIA Control Panel to "Prefer maximum performance."
- Disabled USB Selective Suspend in Windows Power Settings.
- Disabled Global C-State Control and PSS Support in the BIOS to prevent the CPU from entering deep-sleep power states that cause latency spikes.
Does this now leave the CPU and Motherboard as primary suspects?
