Interesting link. Lots of Threadripper chips on it. Suggests that for single core their performance is equivalent to a 200-300mhz bump from Ryzen. Note the 1800X actually boosts to 4.1ghz. Don't know what the 1920 does if at all.

Must be something else going on there surely? I don't believe there's anything technically different between the cores or is there a difference with the RAM they've used?

Quad channel RAM on Threadripper?

8 Pack looked at this in his video, its Dual vs Quad Channel memory.
 
the problem is its quad memory over double the cpu cores. Single threaded Threadripper would be the exact same IPC as any other Ryzen.
 
Threadripper boosts to 4.2ghz. So it is just that for single threaded tests.

Cinebench isn't affected very much by memory bandwidth.
