Ryzen Memory Speed - please help

Just built a new Ryzen rig:
Ryzen 5 1600
GSkill Ripjaw V 16Gb DDR4 3200Mhz 16-18-18-38
MSI X370 Gaming Plus motherboard

I'm all working, and have had the CPU upto about 3800 using Ryzen Master, so all OK there.
But I dont seem to be able to get the RAM to run at anything other than 1067Mhz.
If I increase the slider even slightly it just wont boot up.
I've even tried increasing the voltages a little (1.35v) but still no joy.
I also tried using the profiles in the BIOS and they also refused to boot.
And I've also tried setting the CPU back to stock and speeding up just the memory, but no good.

What am I doing wrong. Whilst I understand there were issues with memory and Ryzen I'm on the latest Bios and thought these had been ironed out now.

I bought the memory thinking it was samsung, which I've read seems to have the right compatibility, but on looking into it I think mine one of the few ripjaws that aren't samsung after all. Mine are Timing 16-18-18-38 , and I think the samsung ones are different.

I'm going to be using this with x-plane 11, which is very memory dependent (uses upto 16gb) so I think getting the clock speed up will be highly beneficial. Which of the components are likely to be causing the issue, or am I doing something wrong? If it is components I may try and see if I can change, especially if its the fault of the memory.

Could someone point me at the exact setting and/or voltages I need to be using to get the ram running at 3200 (or at least close to it)

Thanks

Stop using ryzen master for a start. Use the bios.
Once in there, set your memory to its rated speed and timings and see how you get on.

2933mhz at the very least should be possible.

Set everything manually in the bios. Start off with 1.35v, 16-18-18-28 (auto for everything else) and 2666mhz. Then gradually move on from there.

You may find you have to increase the voltage to 1.4v for 3200mhz and switch the command rate to 2T instead of 1T. If you do switch to 2T to get it to work, then try and see if you can manage to turn Gear Down Mode on, if it isn't by default.

Thanks
2933 is most I can get, on default voltage and timings.
Even increasing voltage and doing what you suggested above I cant get higher.

Maybe it wont make much difference, but surely I should be able to hit 3200 if thats what I've paid for...

It does, the version I have will not even boot at 3200. Unfortunately corsair are inconsistent on the chips they use even for the same model ram.

Be helpful if you could advise on the settings you used for people to try, I have tried the normal things like voltage, timings etc.

Thanks. I can still return these.
Can someone point me at a 16gb kit that will work (i.e. samsung) without too much messing about. If its rated at 3200 surely it should run at that even without faffing with voltages etc?
Thanks again

I have these ones, and they run at 3200 with the great timings using the built in profile on a Asus ch6 and 1700x at 3.8Ghz. Also currently have them running at 3400 and 17,18,18,18,39,1T.

Have the same kit running 3333MHz 14-14-14-14-30-52 1T

This thread has some great info on the best memory timings at various speeds for Samsung B-Die on Ryzen

I'm using the 'HQ B-die - 3333MHz "Safe" 1.350V' ones, which with a small bump in SOC voltage work a treat.

My RAm is running at 1,4 volts, SOc 1.15 with CPU 3.8 [email protected].
Timings as per memory label 16-18-18-36, ProcOdt @53.3ohm. After i applied those settings PC went straight to windows without any issue.
Mind that I didn't use any XMP profile, everything was set up manually. Selecting XMP caused OC error.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I have tried those settings and it still won't go beyond 3066. Must just be the version of Hynix used in the v5.39 lpx 3200 unfortunately, they are fine on intel boards. I am going to get Samsung b die ram to confirm and all being well sell the lpx ram.

Have you tried setting RAM speed without CPU overclocked?

Yes, I did it made no difference. At my current settings it is completely stable, at 3066 it sometimes fails in bios and boots at 2133. It must just be the Hynix memory chips used which is unfortunate as they work fine for intel.

This review in vortez tells u exact measurements..two awards. With all pro's and no cons listed not half bad :)
Biggest shame of year is that i dont have this kit :( was it 2 or 3 weeks after iw picked up 3733 one this showed up if i knew id wait for it heh. Few times already i was on edge of selling 3733s on ebay and picking yhis kit up just to have a play with it. Also noticed You git 3866 kit coming in maan why i like playing with memories more than games lolol

45-46mm is a bit high for me.
The other ram mentioned in the review is Vengeance LPX, which is only 31mm.
Any idea if that is likely to run at 3200 - the benchmark charts seem to suggest it will.
Any other ideas?

I actually have 4500mhz 2x8gb Kit coming if your really into tweaking Intel X299 platform and OCF X299 qualified HCI memtest stable upto 4500mhz plus!!! Will be sold with CPU binned for IMC as well as frequency!!!!
