ryzen mobo, b350 vs x370, hdmi/vga/dvi

Hi

I'm trying to pick a motherboard for a ryzen 1700x, I have some questions

firstly, the boards have an hdmi on the back panel and some of the b350 boards have an hdmi and a dvi and some have a vga as well. I didn't think ryzen had graphics on the cpu or the board (I think the intel cpu's did), I thought you had to plug you monitors into a graphics card, it seems like a stupid question but what are they for, can you use them instead of a graphics card, or use both and have more monitors?

At the moment the Graphics ports on the mobo are of no use. That will change when AMD release the mobile cpu's because they have graphics on board the cpu.

so they are just useless for a desktop pc then, why would they put them on atx boards?

In case AMD launch a desktop APU in the future. I suspect AMD make it compulsory in the spec and then they can claim that the socket will support all chips for the next X number of years.
