Hi,

I read a few things online regarding the new Ryzen CPU's not working with Elgato equipment and software.

Does anyone know if this is still the case as I was looking to order some parts tonight for a friend.

Thanks

Have you tried contacting Elgato about it? Surely they'd know; usually hitting them up on social media is a way to get a quick response.

We tested this issue internally and found that the Elgato devices needed a firmware update to be compatible with AM4 Motherboards.

If you have an Elgato product and it is not detected on AM4 submit a support ticket with Elgato and they will replace your capture card with a replacement with updated firmware.

Using a Elgato HD 60 Pro myself with updated firmware. Took about two weeks for them to replace it after i shipped mine to them in Germany.

Thanks for the replies..

So if his HD60S isn't detected they will just swap it for free with one that does? I'm sure it is only 1 year old but is there any time frame on it?

Yes, contact Elgato if you have issues and they'll ask you to send it to them, then they'll ship you out a model with updated firmware in a new box.

Thanks,

Do you know if its just the PRO model or others too? Everything I have researched suggests the PRO.

I have sent a support ticket asking about it. I am purchasing the PC tomorrow thats why I am a bit anxious lol.

Got a reply from them today:

Thank you for contacting Elgato Systems.

I'm glad you reached out to us with compatibility question, I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

The Ryzen 5 1400 should be compatible with the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S.

If you run into any trouble please feel free to contact us, we will be more than happy to assist you.

Also, I'm sending you a link to an article that goes over the system requirements for the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S. You can find it here:

https://gaming.help.elgato.com/cust...gato-game-capture-hd60-s-system-requirements-

I hope this helps clear things up, If there is anything else I can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

Best,
William Whitley

Seems like I am good to go then :)
