At the moment I have a ryzen [email protected] on a Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero with 16gb Dark pro 8 pack 3200 ram everything is running well, never really had any problem with it and now the bios`s are getting better and better each time they come out,but I fancy a change ive put this in the motherboard section as it depends on this with the upgrade.

What I'm looking at
1/Get a 1700

2/Get coffee lake 8700k do these run hot at all?

3/X299 7800k ive heard they do run hot

Also I want to replace my EVGA 1070 FTW for a 1080ti

Rig will be used for gaming and surfing the net,i know the 8700k is the one for gaming but I would like other peoples input.

Thanks

As above, it's a bit early to upgrade from a Ryzen chip, granted Coffee Lake offers better performance thanks to the higher clock speed but you'll only see the difference on lower resolutions. Better off waiting for the Ryzen refresh/2.

GPU on the other hand, guess 1080Ti is the only choice from the 1070.
