Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong section.

I just put my new motherboard into my PC, reinstalled windows etc, and the pc ran fine for about 7 hours, as soon as I am about to go bed, my pc freezes and I have to reboot, 5 minutes after reboot it happens again. when i reset my pc and get into windows, i get an error message about RZWizard.exe. I'm hoping that this is the reason why, however I have no idea if this is the reason though. no BSOD's were produced and they are enabled, however I have gone into event viewer to see if there is anything there and I see this around the same time

"A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor ID: 4
"

this is in system, also in administrative events is:

"Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected."

Edit:Also get the error above in safe mode.

Windows update tried to, but failed for some reason. The files were in program files but nothing was installed apparently according to control panel and revo uninstaller. I purposely installed synapse from razer website afterwards, then ran revo uninstaller on it to remove the app and it's registry edits, left over files. but could this cause my pc to freeze, with no bsod or anything?

Also, with the processor error, does this mean the processor is faulty?

System rollback as in system restore? I have not tried this if that is what you mean, also I would not know when to roll back to.

Doubtful. However, have you tried a system rollback?

Do you mean doubtful in that the event viewer errors I am getting, they would not cause my PC to freeze or with the razer drivers?

Indeed, just roll back to a date before any issues happened buddy.

In terms of the CPU being broken, it is doubtful. Do you have any BSODs relating to error 124 at all? If so then it will be voltage related, otherwise I think you are good.

Are you overclocked at all? If so, reset the CMOS, and see what happens.

Hi Russell,

Before I changed my motherboard, I was getting a BSOD with error 0x124 i believe it is? however I would never get a freeze like I am now.

BUGCHECK_STR: 0x124_AuthenticAMD

I replaced my motherboard because I read up online that my motherboard cpu combo would cause stability issues, which could be what was causing the bsod.

I have only just put the motherboard in last night, so Either bsod's are no longer happening/not enough time has passed for one to occur or replacing the motherboard fixed this. I downloaded whocrashed just in case and that let me know there was no BSOD and that they are enabled.

However, Even on the old motherboard I was getting the event viewer errors.

When I put the motherboard in, I went into the bios and loaded optimized defaults just in case, however I upped my ram to 1600mhz, as it was set to 1333mhz, that is the only thing that I have changed. In regards to RAM (i'm just throwing thoughts out here), there was a error in event viewer that Superfetch could not start. I had read up about not needing superfetch when using an SSD, however it was set as enabled, but manual as well. I had manually turned this on the morning before work as I am just trying everything and anything to solve the problem.

Another reason RAM is popping in my head is because on my motherboard, my CPU cooler is rather large, so the fan is blocking the very first RAM Slot, so I moved my RAM to slots 2 and 4, matching colours, I believe they are in the correct slots? I can't see it being the actual slots on the motherboard as it is brand new motherboard too.. But I think i've also read the CPU is responsible for the RAM slots or something along those lines.

when I get home from work I will look at the voltages in bios and let you know what they come up as. Is there anything else in the bios that I could write down and post to provide more information/solutions?

hi, quick update.

I went into my bios to take a picture of my temps and voltage, which ill upload here.

I also noticed that, my ram had gone back to 1333mhz on its own, after I changed it to 1600mhz. Not sure if this means anything.

Anyway heres the picture.

Bumping.. Random freeze again today after over a week, couldn't do anything but restart my PC. whocrashed shows no minidumps however they are enabled. I have driver verifier running but as my pc didnt crash/blue screen, i'm presuming the problem isn't a driver? kind of weird as well that the delay between freezes is completely random too. Obviously restarting my pc solves the problem for a random amount of time, is it annoying to deal with however and i'm presuming the reason why its happening isn't good either. :(

bumping, took out the amd fx 8350 and fitted back in my old processor. no longer getting the "A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Corrected Machine Check
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor ID: 4
"

Error, and wierdly enough with the fx 8350 in, when i would boot up, it would make a long beep then carry on, however since fitting my old one back in, there is no beep and it smoothly boots.
