S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky - Gone Gold

It does seem like the same mistakes they made with the first one, in some cases much worse. One would think they would a learned a little after the first one. I know I wont buy another one of thier games.

What annoys me is that most of the bugs were also present on the first game, like the old savegames not working, the side missions that end before you get a chance, the inability to go to the next area etc....I really liked the first game, even with the bugs but I am holding off on Clear Sky until they fix most of the bugs.

Thats fair.

i've not really had any of the problems others have had, so i guess my view will be different. Had a very few ctd's but thats about it. even when i played a few hours without the patch it was fine.

It seriously looks better on DX10, thats pretty much a first.
DX10 wasn't designed primarily to give better IQ, the main advantage would be the same IQ but better framerate ........ but this hasn't happened yet.

Most games that run on DX10 have small differences in IQ, like Bioshock having better water, but not one game has the same IQ but better framerate in DX10

I agree that by looking at the pics DX10 does look better but if the framerate hit is that big you need to go down in detail which defeats the purpose :(

Maybe, but I have seen posts of people responding to a call straight away and not being able to get there in time at all, this was also on the first game.
That would fit with what I said. Like I said you're not supposed to be able to do them all. That's how it'd be in real life, you'd hear distress call on your radio and often be too far away to help, or just not care. The fact that you get a failed mission in your log is fairly meaningless, everyone had loads of failed missions on completing SOC.

I haven't played Clear Sky enough to know for sure (gave up after 1 hr due to CTDs) but I think you get far too many of these faction missions to possibly be able to do all of them and I think that's intended.

Have been really enjoying it - regardless of the numerous CTD's - up until being sent to the Military Warehouses for the main quest. Now, whichever exit I take from the map, I'll crash shortly after arriving at either the Red Forest or Garbage (the game obviously noticed I was trying to avoid a CTD by taking the long route through Garbage back to the Red Forest and swiftly demolished any hope left). It;s infuriating only because I was really in to the storyline. I'm going to assume the next patch will be incompatible with old saves which is also a shame as I'm not really up for starting again.

Has anyone got a working save at the part where they lower the metal bridge for you?

Would greatly appreciate it as I cannot be bothered to try again from the beginning:mad:

Well I've just patched my Russian version with 15.04 (1.02 basically) which hasn't hit the English version yet until they get it all translated I guess. I get a slightly better performance with it and had no crashes or blue screens in an hour that I played, need to go somewhere though so can't play more today. They also added the endurance bar to the HUD which is useful. Only bummer is that my Russian ain't that good nowadays so having to read a lot of stuff over that's being said.

So I was enjoying the game a lot until I got to the Red Forest, now I can't progress because the game just crashes to desktop if I try to move further into the map. There doesn't appear to be any solution, so I'm pretty much screwed.

This has got to be the buggiest game I have ever played in my life, I've never ever seen so many glitches or crashes in a single title before.
