Whereas mine's been on pre-order for several seconds now. Excitement!

Also stumbled across a trailer for Final Fantasy 12, which has tricked me into preordering purely by having the intro music from 7 in it. Can't... resist... FF7... nostalgia.

Bit-Tech done a pre-review of the latest code. Their piece ended with this...

"So having played for a good few hours now, we're eagerly awaiting the final code to see how it plays for real. Our current build requires a pretty monster PC to run smoothly, and we're hoping that this will not be the case in the final version, as tweaks and polish make the game more efficient. We do expect, however, that on a decent set-up the game will look spectacular - GSC has integrated a bespoke physics engine, HDR lighting and widescreen support to make the game look pretty awesome.

In its current state, the game is also pretty buggy, and dies rapidly on Vista, which we're also hoping will be fixed in the weeks up until the end of March."

Let's hope they deal with all this!!!!!

The Eurogamer preview said it runs on a 9800Pro. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Rock on Vista!

Will only see some improvement when Nvidia pull their finger out their ar$e and give us some decent drivers!

I won a beta key for this game .

Still waiting for it !!

If they can't get the beta keys out , god knows when the game will finally be released.

" 23rd March , My Arse " ( spoken in a Ricky Tomlinson voice :D )

Very true. We'll have to wait and see the final results. That being said, what with the huge delays on this game, and instances of slightly poor game play videos, many a once hardcore STALKER fan are getting more and more nervous on this one... myself included.

After a wait of almost biblical proportions, I can't wait to play this game... but I just can't seem to shake that tiny feeling of approaching disappointment.

Let's hope I'm wrong!

Guys, I've spent the past 9 hours playing the beta and the past 3 hours bug hunting. I cannot find anything wrong with this game :D . It runs smooth on about 85% of it's settings on a P4 3.0Ghz coupled with a x850xt PE and 1.5gig Ram. If you have a PC stronger than this, you need not worry, trust me!
My FPS seldom dropped below 50 and hovered around 65.

I'm going to order a monster rig a week before release and push every single damn slider up to full glory!

The atmosphere is brilliant!, It really felt like I was in the zone. I just kept staring at the buildings in the distance....and I felt lonely. The soundtrack only play intermittently so you never get bored of hearing the same tune. The wind blows in burst and spells and the grass sways accordingly. You have leaves blowing around and even they light up when there's a burst of lightning. The lighting effects are really incredible and will amaze with their complexity and gorgeous looks. The clouds are dynamic and looked different everytime I glanced up.I can go on and on but you all will get to play the game soon enough.

The only tiny downside is that while the MP maps are big, they aren't HUGE. They're roughly the size of your normal CSS map. I can imagine that playing 16 a side is going to make for some wild gun battles pretty quick after spawn.

Anyway, gotta go to work, sorry for the braindump, hope you made sense of this all :p
