s10e cannot move apps or make widgets

Do you have Good Lock and/or Good Guardians installed? There's been a few major updates installed late yesterday in anticipation of OneUI 4 and Android 12 and it may be related to them. Note that QuickStar won't update or work from within Good Lock but you can long press to add a shortcut to the Home Screen and it'll work from there.

If you have neither installed I don't know what else it could be. I use Nova Launcher and haven't had problems adding shortcuts or widgets.

for some reason i got no notifications of a reply

stock android launcher, never had an issue till now
have rebooted phone and cleared cache

i cannot even move app icons, i can only open them

Upgrade to NOVA.. its much better and should solve. I am on latest Android on my S10e and no issues. You should be able to import layout
 
dont really want to atm, would like to work out the issue and stick with the stock
and really dont want to scrub the phone, it must be a setting somewhere?

edit sorted it, was apps locked, but the setting was off, had to turn it on and then back off

strange, but at least its sorted
