S2 not charging/freezing

Hey guys, so I'm not actually sure what might be wrong with the phone, it worked fine up until it ran out charge and ever since it just wont charge.. the screen is frozen and locked as soon as I try to. I was a little drunk the night before and things are coming back to me. I seem to remember seeing an alert about an update, not sure what it was for but I was thinking that I might need to get hold of the stock rom install it. I'm not actually sure how to do this though and without the phone turning on, is there a lot I can do? suggestions?

Update. The phone isn't actually working properly, after turning it off I was unable to turn the phone back on would only get to the charging screen and it would freeze.

The only way I can get into the phone is through recovery which takes a really long time to get into at the moment then select restart and wait awhile and the phone will eventually start up.

Any suggestions?
