S2000 owners thread. 9,000rpm of goodness in here.

Surely out of the city = excellent country roads? I found my S2000 to be very comfy as a daily commuter. Wouldn’t be without heated seats now though!

It’s more the miles I put on it. Goes from being a fun car to having to drive every where all the time rather than having everything on my doorstep. I’ve been very very lucky that I’ve not lost money on cars and I’d rather not put 20k boring daily miles on the car in the next year or two, then sell it at a loss.

Master cylinder has gone on my clutch, taking the clutch with it. Honda specialist has recommended replacing it. I guess that’s the problem faulting a 20 year old car, no matter how reliable they are generally.

How did the master cylinder failing take out the clutch? If it fails, you just can't actuate the clutch. I can't see how it would damage the clutch.
Or are you talking about the slave cylinder? If that fails in a certain way it can take out the clutch release fork I guess.

The clutch was only half engaging when I limped it in apparently. I’ll get more information when I have a proper chat with them once they price up what they are proposing.

About £180 for the front mounts and £40 for the trans. It took me about 2 hours to do it. No special tools needed, just a couple of jacks and enough axle stands to get the car off the ground.

Nice, not bad at all considering the difference it’s made for you. I’ll look into it.
