Been looking at both cars for some time, test drive them both a few time too.

Is s2000 really that much better then mk3 2.0 ltr sport?

I really can't see it, mx5 handles much better, engine not great as it lacks the sound of s2000, and s2000 does look better.

But handling and way mx5 handles is way better more playful, inside also looks better

Why does everyone rate s2000 as better? Also steering feel from s2000 not good

Both cars are 2006 model, but s2000 does cost more.

I am a fan of vtec, had a Honda before. S2000 just pulls away, mx5 was over taking it around the corners.

Had both cars at the same time, me and my mate was changing between the two.

Been reading review, both cars did come out at different time ..... Have Mazda improved it?

I agree s2000 engine sound was great, mx5 engine is very poor.

I think a mx5 with 200bhp will be faster then s2000 240bhp

How do you use it?

Mx5 just gave me bit more, really did take corners better. Easier to control on the limit.
S2000 did take me longer to push, but was not as easy to control once over the limit, streering feel was not great.

Maybe was a poor s2000 vs a good mx5

But I really should be, the cars I've had before ...

Just trying to understand why s2000 is better, maybe was a poor car?

Looks like a nice example. Bit expensive perhaps.

Needs at least 1 new centre cap and locking nut. The alloys are a little kerbed, not usually a problem but the AP2V2s on this car are diamond cut. If you want an OEM like refurb then you need someone who can diamond cut OR the more common option is to have them fully repainted. You would need to do this for all 4 alloys then though.

Nice spot, supercharger one looks messy to me? Could be fun :D

The steering is better on the MX-5 but I don't believe it would out handle and S2000 and it is most certainly slower. I think the MX-5 has a more sorted set up and is easier to drive on the limit but I can't say I've had enough time in the S2000 to make a proper call, Ive only drive a couple.

Agree with ... Shame mx5 got such a poor engine could be great car with bit more bhp e.g 200

Why I started the thread to get better view, I think maybe mx5 was really good car, and s2000 was a poor one. Maybe required a few tweaks.

The TTS SCed one is missing centre caps also. Some people run like this intentionally but I am not a fan of the look. Not unless the alloys pull it off anyway. (Stock Honda alloys do not :p)

Other than that it looks pretty stock.

Rear light too, not much more for extra bhp ..

I think it did look lower then pictures I've seen online

I was shocked how good gearbox was in both cars too. Mx5 seem to run out of puff high end maybe around 6',000 rpm

But more lower down, maybe why I think it was easier to put power down around the corners.

Another thing I forgot about mx5 the pedals.... Was strange at the start but on my god they are great once you spend a few hours using them, Heel and toe was so so easy :)

Sounds like mx5 is the car for you then if you don't 'get' the S2000

I just don't see why it's rated as miles better car against a mx5 mk3 2.0 sport...

Honda really should be miles apart, just on test drive day, was not only just ..

How does your one hit 260bhp and 9200rpm?

NA tuning the S2000 is HUGE money for relatively little gain.

If you want more power you go FI. Not cheap but much better cost:gain ratios.

Like all Honda really, best to keep it standard ?

Think the black s2000 I linked to seem to be best one I've seen so far. Less anyone seen a better one?
