S3 Lte help

Hi Guys

A little help or point me in the right direction if you can please.

My daughters S3 lte wont connect to a mobile network (orange) to make calls or text. it can however connect to the web and brows on 3g without a problem.

I did a factory reset on it , still the same , so i rooted it and installed ripper rom , no change so i unlocked it with this method

And tried my giffgaff sim , again it will work on 3g but not for calls or texts .

I am not sure what to try next, any advise would be great.

Very odd. Have you called your network or does the sim work fully in another phone?

Yes both sims work in my s3 but have the same problem in my daughters phone

Just to add if I try to make a call it tells me there is no mobile network but I have access to the net.

Could it be a radio or modem problem ?

Could well be. Is there a way to reflash the baseband?

I have the S3 LTE from EE, this is my baseband (same one since Oct when I bough it):

This could be a network fault - have you checked in with them?

He's tried two network SIMs which both work in other devices, doubt it is a network issue.

reflash baseband or put stock FW on send to Samsung for repair under warranty?

You could contact Samsung to see if they know about the problem.

If all else fails i will put a stock rom back on and take it a service center

Could try browsing available networks and then attempt to connect to another network, Vodafone for example, and then connect back to orange. It worked once for me when nothing else I tried did.

I have a feeling that the phone has been blocked since if I'm correct only being able to use data and being unable to make calls or send text messages is a sign of a blocked handset.

I'd suggest that you run the IMEI number through a place like checkmend to see if it's been blocked.

Just a little update , the phone was indeed blocked by the network .

She got her money back mind , but a lesson learned about buying second hand phone's even from a friend .
