Hello, pc refused to wake so eventually had to turn it off. Now the boot device led light is red and absolutely nothing happens. One short beep on the speaker and nothing on the screen. I was minded to flash the bios but have no clue what bios version I'm on since I can't get any info on it. Motherboard is REV 1.02. Lots of info from asus about converting from rom to cap structure and I don't think I need this since I'm on W7 64 bit.
Any help as to how I further sorting this problem would be appreciated.
Thx Ian

Which setting are you using sleep/allow hybrid sleep/hibernate, Power Plan Settings check this out it may help you?

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/778-power-plan-settings-change.html

But it could be a USB device have you added a new USB device, if so unplug it and just have mouse + keyboard connected?

Them just try letting your PC go into the sleep/allow hybrid sleep/hibernate option you used and see if the PC will wake up and return to desktop.

Hello, unplugged all the stuff not needed except kb and mouse. Changed kb's and different mouse, unplugged all hd's except the c drive...still no life.
I remember this has happened before but upon reboot it always used to go to the bios and say my changes had not worked...but I hadn't made any changes. Clicked ok and save and went on again. This time no bios screen.

Try clearing the CMOS see mobo manual and then Load Optimized Settings again then save and exit and see if what happens.

Don't overclock anything.

Hello, well it wasn't the mobo after all it was the monitor, I noticed the bios would flash for a split second then vanish. Plugged in a spare monitor and it all worked wonderfully.
Thanks for the time and tips about the seven forum. Hell is looking at this 15" monitor now!
