Will Rodgers go? Seems a bit of a mess there at the moment.

A few decent managers are available this summer...

I actually think that the Liverpool owners have to make a move now. As you say, there are some decent managers available this summer, its a big risk to take a chance that someone will still be available next year (if needed).

I dont particularly dislike Rodgers but it could well be that he is now seen as "damaged goods" so to speak.

Got to be honest here.... if I was the Liverpool owners, I'd be picking that phone up and dialling Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool wont have the lure of the Champions League but I have got to believe that players will be more likely to sign for Klopp than they would for Rodgers.

Rogers has done very well in some respects, but he's shown his inexperience with tactics and transfer dealings. None of the signings this season have amounted to much, and the results have reflected such. He also has serious problems in defensive which have hurt him since he took over, and are now worse than ever.

I wish him all the best, but it's time for him to move on.

I expect some movement over the next few days. There's a lot of work to be done.

I'm more worried about being able to keep the players we've got if Rodgers stays.

Madrid are idiots. CL one season, next season nothing. So in 12 months he's become not good enough. That whole club is beyond retarded. The sooner their finances collapse the better.

Yeh it is a bit silly...

I wonder if Ronaldo had any part to play in it.

I used to love him at United but after seeing some of his antics in Real's CL campaign I found him a real turn off this season.

The Spanish government will just bail them out again.

Regardless of what me, you, or anyone else think of their operating practices Real Madrid remain consistently successful.

"Great coach and amazing person. Hope we work together next season."

Can someone explain the logic behind sacking Ancelotti to get Rafa Benitez?

Ancelotti wins nothing this year therefore instantly sacked, thats not really surprising.

They've been after Rafa plenty times before and he's won it all, seems pretty good to me, although doubt they'll give him time so he'll be gone this time next year or the year after.

Would be surprised if he took it but not surprised if he took a meeting. Maybe he has another offer and publicly talking to another club is effectively helping him negotiate elsewhere. Sounds like, much like Zidane, he wants to move towards management and has been saying as much for a while now. I can't see Newcastle being a good place to make his name though with the current situation at Newcastle.

He may have some sort of relationship with a load of the existing players though, given that they are pretty much all French.

Either way, I'm not mad at the link. It's near impossible for him to be any worse than Carver and it would be way more fun than McClaren or any other British failure. I just want someone new to hate, FFS.

Patrick Vieira is no longer under consideration by Newcastle if they decide to change head coach, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports also understands the club will be holding talks with John Carver in the next 48 hours.

Currently debating which sport to start following if Carver gets the job.
